There's a time and a place for a three-dollar bottle of swill wine — a hostess gift at a dinner party for someone you don’t really like, for instance. Other times, it’s nice to indulge in the artistry of the fermented grape. The monthly Art of Wine and Food Series at the Museum of Art|Fort Lauderdale is all about digging into the finer points of the vine. Thursday night, the series will focus on "The Rose Lifestyle of St. Tropez," featuring at least three vintages from Chateau d'Esclans. Certified sommelier/museum wine educator Stephanie Miskew will be joined by Paul Chevalier (from the winery) to talk about the bottles and offer insights into proper winetasting techniques (e.g., how to taste without getting smashed, and so on). Chef Lenore Nolan-Ryan will prepare small bites to pair with each wine, and guests can hang out at the high-top tables, where they'll be served throughout the event. The tasting is 6 to 7:30 p.m., but the museum will remain open until 8 p.m. The cost is $35 per person and includes admission to the museum’s exhibitions. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. The Museum of Art|Fort Lauderdale is located at 1 E. Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-262-0249, or visit moafl.org.
