Well, he started a podcast from his garage — aided by a few cats and decades’ worth of resentment — and went on to conquer the comedy world. Marc Maron’s career path may have taken more detours than he would’ve liked, but the wait has paid off handsomely. His wildly popular “WTF With Marc Maron” podcast has catapulted him into the limelight, giving him a midlife career surge complete with small movie roles, a guest spot on Louie, and a forthcoming autobiographical TV series on IFC. Catch Maron’s observational, punch-line-free standup routine this weekend in Fort Lauderdale. He performs at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday, 7 and 9:45 p.m. Saturday, and 8 p.m. Sunday at Fort Lauderdale Improv, located at 5700 Seminole Way in Hollywood.
