This Saturday night, everyone gets to read the fortunes of the Green Room's art director, Gina Bentivegna. It doesn't matter if they are tarot card readers. For her debut solo exhibition, the gifted artist has culled psychic readings done on her and interpreted them on canvas. The outcome is "Shine," a collection of Bentivegna's recent tarot card readings set to a layering of acrylic and spray paint. Instead of brushes, the unconventional painter uses knives to carve out her clairvoyantly inspired pieces. The show also includes Bentivegna's pencil sketches and fantastic sculptures, one awe-inspiring 15-foot one made of woven sheet music included. There will be an actual tarot card reader on hand for those curious about their own fortunes. Body painting and live art by other artists rounds out the evening. Ex-Norwegian's wistful indie pop will provide the musical entertainment.
This 21-and-over telekinetic night happens Saturday at 10 p.m. at the Green Room, located at 109 SW Second Ave. in Fort Lauderdale. No cover. Visit greenroomlive.com, or call 954-449-1025.
