It's always fun to start off the weekend a little early. To some, that might mean a little dose of after-work happy hour at your regular spot. But for a lucky few, it could mean a full-on sipping and tasting battle. The Associated Builders and Contractors in Florida are all about getting together and networking their butts off. But for their upcoming event, the ABC Craft Beer and Food Truck Battle, they are blowing the door off your traditional offering of handshakes and lite bites. ABC is bringing it home this Thursday with all things local and delicious. A sampling of our favorite local craft brews alongside tastes from some of the area's finest food-truck purveyors will easily translate into full bellies and big smiles. But ABC is taking this one step further and waging a war. While stuffing your face, take the time to vote for your favorite food truck; the champion goes home with bragging rights and a cool $500. Don't think you belong with the building world? This event is open to everyone, and you get all you can sample with the price of admission. We're not sure who first married networking and booze, but a threesome with food trucks could make for the perfect environment to pass out your business cards. The ABC Craft Beer and Food Truck Battle is Thursday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at ABC's corporate office, located at 3730 Coconut Creek Parkway in Coconut Creek. The cost is $40 for ABC members, $50 for nonmembers. Call 954-984-0075, or visit abceastflorida.com.
