In case you need another excuse to feel guilty for picking Taco Tuesday over treadmill time, the most ripped and chiseled bodies in the U.S. will descend on Fort Lauderdale for the NPC National Bodybuilding Championships this weekend. More than 1,000 competitors will strut their hyperbronzed über-bodies across the stage at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts as they flex for a spot on the international bodybuilding circuit. In between protein powder hits and spray tan touchups, these men and women will scoff at your 50 crunches a day as they bench-press your mom and crack walnuts with their smiles. And let us assure you, the quads on Ana Bolic are something to behold. Preliminary judging starts Friday at 1 p.m. and resumes Saturday at 9 a.m. Tickets for Friday and Saturday's prelims are $50 each plus fees. Saturday's finals start at 5 p.m. and cost $75 to $125, plus fees. Call 407-876-4467, or visit nationalbodybuilding.com. Tickets are also available via browardcenter.org.
Fri., Nov. 22, 1 p.m.; Sat., Nov. 23, 9 a.m., 2013
