Things happen when there is a full moon. People are creepy. OK, fine: creepier. But still, there is a definite feeling and shift when the glowing orb in the sky finds this elusive resting place. You know what else happens? A sweet drum circle. We know there is no such thing as a nonsweet drum circle, but when the shadows of banging hands are being constructed by the big ball of cheese in the sky, things just feel a whole lot happier. Bring your own drum, but leave your professional self at home. This event is all about letting loose and meeting free spirits and local supporters. Feel the rhythm and howl at the moon while embracing a community vibe and sharpening your percussion skills. If you have always felt like the Jessa in your group of Girls, then reach down to your inner hippie and pull out your funky drum-circle persona. If ever there was a time to embrace your oddities, may we suggest the full moon as your finest option. The Full Moon Drum Circle is Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and every full moon at ArtsPark at Young Circle, located at 1 N. Young Circle, Hollywood. Admission is free. Bring an instrument to jam along. Visit visithollywoodfl.org, or call 954-926-0204.
Wed., Jan. 8, 7-9 p.m., 2014
