CheeseMe's owner, Andrew Kaplan, loves cheese. In a conversation with Clean Plate Charlie the other day, all roads led to cheese - what cheese shops are good in south Florida (Cheese Course is Kaplan-approved), what possible new cheesy items might make good menu additions (still in the talking stages, dear readers), and cheeses that are our favorites (really old, really pungent)...

While all this cheese talk may sound a bit obsessive, we can all agree its a very good thing for a cheese-sandwich food truck owner to have. Andrew Kaplan loves cheese, so he makes one heck of a cheese sandwich - to your benefit.

If you're cheese love borders on obsession (as ours does), you've got to check out CheeseMe's selections. House specialties include the Shorty (braised short rib, slaw, roasted red pepper on your grilled cheese $12) and the B.C.T. (applewood smoked bacon, cheddar and tomato $12).

If you're missing your childhood, try the American (grilled American cheese on Texas toast with a cup of tomato soup $9) or build your own with a choice of cheeses (seven varities including Avricchio aged cheddar, vintage cheddar, Compania buffalo mozzerella, Green Island blue, cave aged Gruyere, Fontina, and American), bread, sauces and add-ins like grilled chicken, pulled pork and three-onion marmalade.

Build-your-owns start at $6 for a basic bread-and-cheese and go up in price as you create a mammoth tower of cheese and meat.

This Saturday, July 16, Party in the Pines features over a dozen food trucks (including CheeseMe) and free parking from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Food Trucks serving at Party in the Pines include: 4 Alarm Pizza, Catered Bliss, CheeseMe Mobile, Dog Eat Dog, Jefe's Original Fish Taco & Burgers, Latin Burger & Taco, Mangia Mia, The MexZican Gourmet, Miso Hungry, Moty's Grill, Papa's Tapas, The Red Koi, El Rincon del Coqui, The Rolling Stove, ShaoRoma Romanian FreshFood, Slow Food Truck, Sugar Rush, and Wing Commander. 13601 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pines
