No. 78 Crab Benedict from Downtowner Saloon

In Charlie's quest to find the perfect brunch, we came across Downtowner. Long hailed as a staple for locals, we never bothered to wake up on a Sunday morning after drinking there on Saturday night! Boy, were we missing out! All of the usual brunch offerings are there, plus a cooked-to-order omelet station. But one of our brunch companions let us in on the secret: Ask your server for the crab Benedict. It's not laid out on the regular self-serve spread; you have to order it directly from the wait staff.

Creamy yellow hollandaise sauce blankets a poached egg resting on fresh crab meat, sitting atop a perfectly toasted English muffin. You cut into the egg, watching the yolk create a gooey mixture of goodness that pools around your muffin. You won't even miss the pork element here -- this baby shines with salty seafood goodness!

Raise your mimosa and toast yourself for suggesting brunch at the Downtowner, because this dish is the best hangover cure ever!
