Rapoport, who runs Henry's, Max's, and Bogart's in Boca Raton, is throwing a lot into the Deck 84 project. He has reportedly signed a 25-year lease, and the new restaurant will seat 260 in a 15,000-square-foot setting, with 150 feet of dock space on the Intracoastal.
Big digs, huh? And there's a big, Club Med-style "re-conceptualization" to accompany it: a cool interior renovation featuring a variety of exotic woods (including kerei and tambour), a "bubble wall," and a big outdoor fire pit on the water.
Chuck Gittleman, who now runs the kitchen at Bogart's, is coming aboard Deck 84 as well.
So far, Rapoport's website promises "casual American waterfront dining" with "affordable menu items in a resort-style setting" is still aiming for a November opening. 561-665-8484 is the number to call for more information.
