When dining Italian you must have wine. That statement is pure, simple, and true. In Italy, wine practically flows down the cobblestone streets, made in basements, at home, and at gorgeous Tuscan wineries.
And yet, Ernie's Italian Chophouse restaurateur Ernie Patti has chosen to celebrate American wines for his wine pairing dinner. Not only that, but Patti, along with executive chef Gary Wood, are taking a contemporary spin on the menu for the evening, which will feature wines from California-based Bell Wines.
Chef Wood has created dishes based on the wines to be featured. "Wine dinners are a great chance to experiment and serve dishes that might not be on the menu but possibly could, " he said.
