Food truck invasion -- Miami Food Trucks will host the weekly food truck invasion at Arts Park in Young Circle with more than two dozen food trucks like B.C. Tacos, Dolce Gourmet Cupcakes, Ms. Cheezious, and Veggie Xpress. The event is 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. in downtown Hollywood. There's no charge to attend, but bring cash for the trucks.
National Waiters and Waitresses Day -- Today is named in recognition of the hard-working men and women who literally put the food on your table. Show 'em a little bit of extra love come tip time today, if you feel so inclined.
Tuesday:
Greater Pompano Beach Chamber presents Fine Food & Wine Festival -- Twenty-five restaurants, chefs, and food vendors will showcase their talents at the Fine Food & Wine Festival from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek. French Wines and Cheese -- Cheese Culture in downtown Fort Lauderdale will host a tasting event with French wines and cheeses at 7 p.m. The cost is $45 a person.
Wednesday:
Wine academy event -- The Virginia Philip Wine Shop & Academy will prepare for Memorial Day with a wine tasting event featuring four barbecue-appropriate wines plus wings. The class is 6 to 7 p.m. and costs $35 per person. Call 561-721-6000.
Saturday:
Memorial Day weekend food truck event -- Bruce Rossmeyer's Harley-Davidson stores in Sunrise and Fort Lauderdale will host food truck events from noon to 4 p.m. The Fort Lauderdale location (2871 N. Federal Highway) will host Miami Spice Grill and Roka Panini and the Sunrise location (201 International Pkwy.) will welcome Mobile Culinary Kitchen and NanaNina's.
