In February of 2011, Daniel Jang lost his grandfather to the heartbreaking deterioration of Alzheimer's disease. But rather than simply mourn his loss, Jang decided to do something more proactive.
To raise awareness on this devastating disease -- and to honor his beloved grandfather -- Jang has set off on a motorcycle trek across America. During his trip, Jang plans to meet with various local chapters of Project Lifesaver, a national emergency response team for
those suffering from cognitive disorders.
Today, June 26, you can have a chance to meet Jang and support his mission. He will be stopping at Russell's Blue Water Grill in Palm Beach Gardens, where owners Russell Beverstein and Chef Charles Coe have generously donated a free happy hour to welcome Jang into Palm Beach County.
From 3 to 7 p.m., guests are invited to enjoy a free cocktail and free hors d'oeuvres in support of Jang's journey. Representatives from the Palm Beach chapter of Project Lifesaver will also be in attendance to speak with attendees and accept donations for the charity.
Jang's trip began June 23 in his hometown of Macon, Georgia. His ride for Alzheimer's Awareness will take him across the country visiting 49 of the 50 states, including Canada -- and then on to the "top of the world" at the Arctic Circle.
Along the way, Daniel will meet with local chapters of Project Lifesaver, members of the Alzheimer's Foundation, and other Alzheimer's advocacy support groups.
Come out today and meet Daniel to show your support for Alzheimer's Awareness and enjoy a free drink and appetizers at Russell's Blue Water Grill.
