Lady Gaga is known for her "out there" fashion and while we wouldn't necessarily call it "couture," other people might. In fact she received a "Fashion Icon" award at last night's 2011 CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Awards in New York City.

The pop icon is known for her crazy, over-the-top outfits. Take her meat dress for example. She layered herself in raw, red meat for the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, even asking Cher to hold her "meat purse" (and no that's not a euphamism.)

Heck, even the leotard-like outfit she wore for her performance at Bill's Filling Station back in 2008 was a little weirder than the CFDA get-up - if you don't look at last night's shoes.

This is why were surprised by the fairly tame black dress she wore for last night's award show. Apparently not only was the singer excited about receiving the honor, her nipples were too. Check out the slightly NSFW photo.
