"My girl tastes like pork chops," begins one of the new songs by the Two Man Gentleman Band, a duo (obviously) that hails from Brooklyn but draws from older, inner-country musical traditions. Clearly, they don't do that too seriously -- the group's take on rockabilly, Western swing, and jazz is at once reverent and tongue-in-cheek.

Though they were born about 40 or 50 years after the height of these genres, bandmates Andy Bean and Fuller Condon fully immerse themselves in this project, playing seriously nimble-fingered tunes on guitar and bass that stand up on their own. Live, they appear in slicked-back hair and what amounts to period costume, churning out witty lyrics and between-song banter.

Their easy groove is rootsy and fun and boasts multigenerational appeal. This makes the act a perfect fit for the recently opened Native Florida Tap Room and Music Hall, local bluesman "Kilmo" Pacillo's new venue in downtown Hollywood. In fact, this show's been moved to the Tap Room from its originally scheduled venue, Propaganda, previously the unofficial home of Americana stuff in South Florida...

So will Propaganda be seeing a competing run for its booking money? Probably not -- Hollywood and Lake Worth draw different geographical crowds, so we wouldn't be surprised to see the same acts playing both venues in the future.

Aside from all that, though, below you can score two tracks from the Two Man Gentleman Band, the aforementioned "Pork Chops" and another ditty called "Please Don't Water It Down," a musical instruction for a bartender to go heavy on the pour. Both tracks come from the group's upcoming full-length album, Two at a Time, which was funded via Kickstarter but then recorded, designed, and packaged completely without any digital help.

Two Man Gentlemen Band. 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, at the Native Florida Tap Room and Music Hall, 2006 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood. Admission is $5. Visit nativeflorida.net
