5. Flaunt Presents Sunghosts with Peace Arrow

Thursday, August 7. Respectable Street, 518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach. No cover. Visit Facebook.

A familiar event for those who regularly read our five under $5 lists, Flaunt is a dance party well worth the hype. The usual cheap drinks abound: $2 PBRs are $1 before 11 p.m. and $3 Flaunt shots. But the talent is always changing. Tonight, on display will be the live sounds of Peace Arrow and Sunghosts. Respectable Street regulars Marvelous Kendall, JJ Contramus, and OZwaldus will be holding it down at the turntables, so strap on those dancing shoes and gets 'a stretchin'.

4. First Thursday at Stache

8 p.m., Thursday, August 7, at Bar Stache, 109 SW 2nd Ave., Fort Lauderdale. No cover. Visit Facebook.

Tonight marks the launch of Stache's new monthly, simply titled First Thursday. In cahoots with the Museum of Art at Nova, the 1920s speakeasy presents music, live art, photo booths, and, most importantly, Crazydilla and Brunos food trucks. You can thank DJ/VJ Lindersmash and Tonx for providing the beats and enjoy The Old Fashioned, Birthday Candles, Topbunk, and Smith Sundy live. However, one of the coolest parts of the night includes one of the outside walls of Revolution which will be adorned with a mural. New design but same good ol' music feel? We like it.

3. Surfer Pig, the Bell Ringers, and Between Enemies

10 p.m., Friday, August 8, at Inkwell Pub, 238 N State Road 7, Margate. No cover. Visit Facebook.

Surfer Pig has such a good name. But that's not the only reason to catch the band live performing with the Bell Ringers and Between Enemies. They're bringing an "old fashioned punk rock party amongst friends" to Margate's Inkwell Pub. We encourage you to dress up like an actual surfer pig.

2. Future Fridays Battle of the DJs

10 p.m., Friday, August 8, at Revolution Live. 100 SW 3rd Ave., Fort Lauderdale. $10 cover 18+, $5 cover 21+.Visit Facebook.

At Future Fridays, producers and DJs will battle it out for cash, a headlining spot at an upcoming show, and a free professional studio recording or master session. MC Jumanji will be hosting the event while the list of featured DJs include Nishad, Mark Lami, CuervoShots, Soular, TweaK, and Dabz Dubz. Remember, this is an 18 and older event, so think of this as an opportunity to show your little sister what real South Florida music is all about.

1. Gunfight Album Release Party

8 p.m., Friday, August 8, at Propaganda Lake Worth. 100 6 S J St., Lake Worth. $10 cover. Visit Facebook.

Gunfight, a "Southern hardcore" band, will present its album, out on Aces High Tattoo and Eulogy Recordings, Friday night. The part-tay will start just in time for happy hour with free cocktails for the ladies and $3 ones for the guys (sorry fellas). Old Habits, Sweet Nothings, Beastplague, and Sunnyvale will also be adding to the chances you'll one day have tinnitus.
