This is a big week for local bands in national media. The Fader featured a downloadable version of Sumsun's remix of Sun Glitters "They Don't Want to Let You Know."

The original ain't bad, but we down here know that the remix is even better. West Palm Beacher Judson Rogers brings a totally ethereal, ambient element to the song, lulling listeners into a delicious daze. It irons out the jumpiness of the original and flatters its conventions more than highlights its quirks, bringing a crazy assortment of sounds you might not have thought would go well together but just do.

Rogers released his debut LP, Samo Milagro, in 2010 on Leaving Records. You may have seen him perform recently at County Grind Live Music at Green Room and just last weekend at Little Munich. We're always happy to see a local boy gone big.
