You're up to speed on the Heineken TransAtlantic Festival here in SoFla. I know you are because we've been telling you about it for weeks. Right here. And here. And via any of a number of other posts to Crossfade in recent days. So you know about this fantastic series that's been giving concertgoers a chance to sample some killer acts from around the world, right here on our very own sun-drenched shores throughout April. Shows like Aterciopelados and Ximena Sariñana's have already delighted fans, and this weekend's one-two punch features another pair of killer combos, including CuCu Diamantes on Saturday, who's been the leading lady of my most recent none too secret musical infatuation.
But tonight, there's a whole separate show I want to tell you about. Budos Band and Javier Garcia will be performing live tonight, and it promises to be a stellar performance. Budos Band are an 11-piece ensemble known for an eclectic blend of Afrobeat, Ethiopian jazz, funk, soul and big band. WTF, you say? I know. And Javier Garcia's is not a live show to be missed. His fusion of reggae, Latin rock, ska and funk never fails to get a crowd moving. Do yourself a favor and head to the Bandshell.
For a good time, call Heine. Presale tix are $20. The show starts at 7 p.m. at the North Beach Bandshell (73rd Street and Collins Avenue).
