Minor quibble that Cee Lo Green's reminder of the general loveliness ahead for today came so late in the afternoon, but otherwise hearing him open up his pipes on the Bill Withers classic "Lovely Day" is on point.

The clip comes from the Gnarls Barkley/Goodie Mob vocalist's ever-approaching special, Vh1 Storytellers: Cee Lo Green, which premieres Friday evening at 11 p.m. ET. In it, Mr. Thomas Callaway hold out his notes long enough that he's got time to raise one of his sequin-adorned sleeves to check his watch. Actually, it's a little unnerving how easy he makes this veritable R&B classic sound.

As a bonus, here's a rocked-up live rendition of "Bright Lights, Bigger City," which is admittedly in the spirit of Loverboy's "Working for the Weekend" -- or even better, Johnny Kemp's "Just Got Paid."
