Starting last year, South Florida emo legends Further Seems Forever slowly let details of the original lineup's reunion slip out. Frontman Chris Carrabba and drummer Steve Kleisath spoke to New Times about the pending unification, but now things are officially taking shape.
As announced and promoted by TheHoneycomb.com, on Thursday, April 14, the band will grace the stage at Lake Worth's Propaganda for a warm-up gig for the ages. When Christine Borges spoke to Carrabba last year amidst his ten-year anniversary of Swiss Army Romance celebration, things were already definitely afoot:
Well, we're gonna do something. That's what we've decided. We don't knowSouth Florida will get to hear songs like "The Moon is Down" performed by the FSF original lineup prior to the folks attending Groez Rock in Belgium April 22 (the first reunion date announced). U.S. shows following that one include the Theatre of the Living Arts in Philadelphia on April 28, Boston's Paradise Rock Club on April 29, and the Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on May 1.what we're gonna do because we haven't decided that yet. We know we're
gonna do one show, but it's overseas. But that's not good enough.
There's no way we're gonna be playing together and not play down here.
This area's been too good for us and too important for us to go without
spending time here. These are the people I grew up with and never
stopped spending time with. It's just a natural progression after all
these years of barbecues and what-have-you to finally pick up guitars.
It feels great to me too because I'm not the only one from the original
lineup that wasn't in it by the end. So the original lineup has a real
freshness. Many of us haven't done it essentially since I left, which
is, what, 11 years or 12 years or something? We've done one show in all
that time. It feels right, but it also just kind of feels natural.
