Only a terrible, stone-hearted person doesn't smile when they see Davy Jones' face. He was the cutest Monkee. The one we loved best (sorry, other Monkees). Jones passed away today in Florida of a heart attack at the young age of 66.
Generations of television watchers and music lovers grew up admiring the music and antics of this boy band. The Monkees originally aired from 1966 to 1968 but continued to show on television decades after the show was completed. Though the band was formed in America, Jones was the Brit of the foursome.
Later in life, he appeared on shows like The Brady Bunch and even SpongeBob SquarePants. He appeared in a Harry Nilsson's play The Point at the Mermaid Theatre. Jones recorded a children's song, "Your Personal Penguin," in 2006 and in 2009 released She, an album of classic standards from the '40s to the '70s. Most importantly, Jones will be remembered as Yahoo Music's "Number 1 teen idol of all time." You really can't beat that.
