Hot off the heels of a successful jaunt across the Northeast with crustabilly soul brothers Everymen the gals, and two guys are aiming to please the banjo-wielding tattooed masses this evening. And just like their freak-folk brethren, the Darling Sweets will be releasing their album on upstart West Palm Beach label, Wayward Parade. The Darling Sweet's EP marks the second official release put out by the local label, owned by tattoo entrepreneur John Wylie.
Everymen of course will join the Sweets in the carousing this evening. Femme fatale indie troupe Bonnie Riot and the only slightly twisted acoustics of Yellow #6 are also partaking in the fun.
The door charge is $10, but that also cops you a copy of the record. In addition, any muck-punks that arrive before 10 p.m. will receive extra special sweet treats directly from the Darling Sweets themselves.
To warm up for this evening's romp, check out this devilish selection from the album--"Devil B. Gone." A haunting, guitar strum-happy skiffle that takes many cues from ragtime blues of yore.
The Darling Sweets. With Everymen, Bonnie Riot, and Yellow #6. 9 p.m. Friday, September 16 at Propaganda, 6 S. J St., Lake Worth. Tickets cost $10. Click here.
