With it being Best of season around here, it's good to note the continuing success of some of our past winners. You can start this weekend off early with Flaunt, the indie party, voted New Times' Best Nightlife Party in 2012, that keeps on giving. The night's headlining act is South Florida roots foursome Gravel Kings. The band is working on their first full album out next month on Decades Records.

DJ Marvelous Kendall, JJ Contramus, and OZwaldus will contribute to the party feel with their sonic skills while $2 PBRs ($1 before 11 p.m.) and $3 Flaunt shots will help those hesitant feet to fly. Gravel Kings will play another gig this Saturday at Inkwell Pub with Shotgun Betty and Thieves are Watching, so you have no excuse to not check them out now.

5. Earphunk With Moon Hooch

The Funky Biscuit has an ear for everything, well, everything funky. This Friday's show features New Orleans' Earphunk, a six-piece band that describes itself as "prog-funk," a genre presumably made in stoner nerd heaven. Moon Hooch, a trio of "ragged" house rock, will support them. Get tickets now to save 5 bucks. Who knows, maybe you can actually save it for something we post on next week's five under $5.

4. Tides of Man with Lavola and Goodnight Neverland

Respectable Street continues to keep music live in West Palm Beach. Tampa prog rockers Tides of Man will be perform to the glee of those who love instrumentation. Also, locals-on-the-rise Lavola will bring purely atmospheric hard rock to the stage and Goodnight Neverland will chill things out with some slow indie soundscapes. To prep for the event, check out Lavola's "Show Your Face, Motherfucker." Sassy and upbeat, it may just be the new "screw you" song you dedicate to your ex.

3. Edition12 Art and Music Showcase

Art is great and all, but there's something that makes art even better: music. Edition12 at the Black Rose Irish Pub is a delightful blend of both these entertaining and emotional elements. Musical acts Maddie Besser, Montage, Moon Sharks, Alarmists, and Shark Anthony along with DJs Project Mayhem, Jaholcups, and Indizzle, will be providing auditory delights. And artists such as Kelcie Mcquaid, Joaquin Anico, Amanda Kopacz, April Ann, and others have the visuals down pat.

Oh, and put down that iPhone, you selfie-obessessed art-lover you. There'll be a photo booth set up for all your picture needs. Just a heads up: This will be the last edition of the party in South Florida, so don't miss your chance to see Broward County's talents highlighted locally.

2. RJ Art Junkies Celebrate Stonewall

Recycled Jude is a business that makes artsy home décor out of bottles and gives a portion of its profits to Saint Jude Children's Hospital. It's pairing up with Rumors Bar & Grill for a night of art, music, and straight fabulousness.

This Sunday, the Stonewall Festival is back, celebrating gay pride. So this event is just the tip on the rainbow iceberg. Kicking off at 6, there will be musical performances by bands such as Pandia Music, the Wilton Drive Band, Octo Gato, and Emily Sheila. There will be live art and vendors such as Dianaramic Doings, Larvacious Creations by Lady Larva, and the ever so punny Holdyourcrochet. The ever so fair-skinned Paleface returns to Lake Worth, and this time, it's with plenty of new accolades and successes in tow, including the short Paleface: The Making Of One Big Party which documents him and his partner -- in life and onstage, Mo Samalot -- recording their last album. Expect energetic indie sounds to bring the house up and down. Here's a interesting fact: Paleface was once roommates with "Loser" Beck. Cool, huh?
