Boynton Beach police have announced that Sheri Carter, 29, the woman working as an escort who was allegedly shot in the neck and abdomen by FAU police officer Jimmy Dac Ho, died this morning around 8:35 a.m. Ho has been charged with murder.

Carter was being treated at Delray Medical Center and had been paralyzed from the waist down from trauma to the spine related to the gunshot wound.

Ho attempted to kill himself in Palm Beach County Jail early yesterday and was transported in serious condition to Wellington Regional Medical Center.

Carter worked out of her home at the Marina Village complex in Boynton Beach using the name "Stephanie." She posted frequent ads to Backpage.com.
