... Give a speech.
I'm actually stunned. This is, without a doubt, the worst convention speech by a nominee I have ever seen. McCain is obviously reading from the teleprompter which helps give him that deer-in-the-headlights look, he's off balance, off key, flubbing lines and words, no flow, no timing, weak tone, hell even protesters are interrupting it. Numerous times, he squinted to read and then lost himself in what was supposed to be some rousing catchphrase. I'm not kidding -- it was a horror show with more clunkers than an abandoned junkyard. (Example: At one point when describing Palin he said "She works with her hands and nose." He paused and repeated the word before you knew he was saying "knows," as in, "and knows what it's like to worry about mortgage payments.")
His speech was as surprisingly horrible as Palin's was surprisingly strong. Just when the Republicans were starting to get cocky, too. Looks like nothing's gonna come easy for either party in this one.
