On March 18, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., a store called Babalu Palm Beach will hold a cocktail party.

Its purpose is to celebrate the smell of a candle.

The candle costs $595.

According to a news release, a company called Fornasetti Profumi is releasing a "new candle and room fragrance" called Sole di Capri that "is redolent of high summer and long lazy days spent on the sun-drenched island. The intense southern Italian sunshine warms terracotta terraces, their sun-baked, heady dry scent mixing with the sea air and the surrounding citrus trees growing among the white-walled houses."

On its website, Babalu lists the price of this very special candle as $595.

At the party, champagne will be served, and "those who spend $300 or more worth of Fornasetti products will receive a gorgeous Fornasetti ceramic room diffuser, valued at $150!!"

There's a Babalu on Lincoln Road in Miami and now one at 21 Via Mizner on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach.
