"It's Hammer Time" probably wouldn't be a good catchphrase for 40-year-old Roberto Montanez.
That's because the cops say Montanez decided to take a hammer to his girlfriend's head early this morning, landing her in the hospital.
A passing motorist noticed Montanez' 22-year-old girlfriend running down the median of Forest Hill Boulevard around 1:30 a.m.
When a sheriff's deputy arrived, cops say she told the deputy Montanez had just hit her in the head with the hammer -- and then she passed out.
The woman was taken to a hospital, while deputies went to talk to Montanez.
Montanez was hanging out outside the couple's home, where he told deputies he had merely pushed his girlfriend -- no heavy metallic instruments involved.
Montanez was taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, where he was ordered to be held without bond, and faces one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He also had an active warrant out for his arrest in Broward County.
