The Pulp let y'all know last week that the Christian Family Coalition blew a gasket over Oakland Park's proclamation recognizing Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Pride & Equality Month passed by the city's commission.

In response, we received an underhanded thank-you note from the Christian Family Coalition's founder and executive director, Anthony Verdugo.

For those of you unaware of the Christian Family Coalition, it's about one "God hates fags" sign short of the Westboro Baptist "Church."

As part of his thank-you note, Verdugo says, "The fair-minded and mainstream among us understand that insults, slurs, and disparaging names are the ONLY 'arguments' of those who lack arguments."

In fairness, the Pulp will recognize that we said the Christian Family Coalition was going "batshit insane" and wrote "some hateful crap," because, well, it did.

However, out of the 96 words from the Christian Family Coatlition in our post, it managed to use "insults, slurs and disparaging names" a grand total of 17 times -- approaching 20 percent of its material.

We'll point them out for you:

  • anti-Family
  • antisocial
  • Aberrosexualist
  • intolerant [3x]
  • hate-filled
  • homosexualist [2x]
  • extremists [3x]
  • biologically aberrant sexual behavior
  • disrespectful
  • hypocritical
  • bigoted
  • bigotry

That's some intolerant disrespectful bigotry! Whoops.

Without further ado, here's the latest gem from the Christian Family Coalition sent to New Times:

SUBJECT:
New Times Article Unmasks Aberrosexualist Extremism

Christian Family Coalition (CFC) directors and members thank New Times for Matthew Hendley's July 13th, 2011 "freaked-out," hate piece uncontrollably attacking CFC for standing with Oakland Park Commissioner Jed Shank in support of Father's Day.

The fair-minded and mainstream among us understand that insults, slurs, and disparaging names are the ONLY "arguments" of those who lack arguments. This is why Matthew cannot muster much more than slurs and profanity to vilely attack those who dare to disagree with him.

Matthew's bitter diatribe affords everyone in our community a good glimpse of the bigotry, vulgarity, and hysteria that practically identifies aberrosexualist partisans whose absurd, antisocial ideology pushes the macabre "celebration" of biologically aberrant sexual behaviors. (Talk about "weirdos"!)

This rant glaringly exposes the extreme vileness harbored against America's families, children and values by aberrosexualists, who we know do not represent the vast majority of respectful homosexual men and women. Thank you, Matthew for your latest intolerant "drama"!

On a side note, we're told by a resident of Oakland Park who emailed Commissioner Shank about his "no" vote on the proclamation received a response that the commissioner is not antigay.
