The sentence for 35-year-old James Mozie was handed down in federal court yesterday: life in prison, plus ten years of supervised release. Dude's going to have a parole officer in the afterlife.

Mozie was convicted in December of one count of conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of a minor, eight counts of sex trafficking of a minor, and one count of production of child pornography for running the "Boom Boom Room" out of a house in Oakland Park that featured stripping and sex with underaged girls.

Customers paid a cover charge (the bouncer got four years in prison), then had access to girls at least as young as 13, according to prosecutors. Men gave tips for dancing and could also request "dates" in the backroom, from which Mozie would get a 30 percent commission.

Seven victims testified against Mozie, including one 16-year-old who said she had sex with three men her first night at the Boom Boom Room and made $240; her 14-year-old cousin took home $290. (There are more details in our write-up from December, if you really want them.)

Officials said Mozie advertised the business with mass text messages and screened girls with job applications that sometimes included having sex with him for purposes of "testing the merchandise."

Accomplice Laschell "Shelly" Harris was already sentenced to 13 years in prison after pleading guilty to a count of sex trafficking.
