I don't know if I believe it. T

he Eggelletion I know wouldn't step down easily. In fact, he'd need to be physically removed from office by the jaws of life. But the speculation is understandable; with this smoke, there is definitely some fire. Eggelletion, 60, reportedly has health concerns, and he's also under investigation by the State Attorney's Office (and other more, uh, effective agencies, reportedly). That investigation revolves around an allegation that he received a golf club membership in return for support of a housing development in his district. Little is known about any case being made against him, but Eggelletion is apparently taking it seriously with the hiring of McCray.

McCray, of Pompano Beach, is a longtime friend and an Eggelletion political appointee in the past.

I have a call into McCray's office and will update as soon as possible.

More to come on this one for sure.
