Let's just get this out of the way first.
OK, that's better. Now, last week, a familiar face on the Boca Raton party scene was taken into police custody after allegations of sexual assault arose. When we say party scene, we're not talking about nightclubs. Jesse Coursey is a dance instructor and DJ at area Sweet 16s, bar mitzvahs, and weddings -- exactly the type of gatherings that would put him in close range to underaged girls. The 31-year-old Lake Worth resident allegedly took advantage of the role on Memorial Day 2012.
Coursey worked as an instructor at Jewel's Dance Studio, as well as a DJ for JDC Entertainment (the picture's below were all pulled from the business' Facebook account). According to the Palm Beach Post, on Memorial Day weekend 2012, three teen girls were at the Greenacres home he shared with his wife to babysit the couple's three kids. While the adults were away, the girls started chugging Smirnoff raspberry shots. One 15-year-old girl passed out on the couch.
According to police, when she awoke, she was in Coursey's bedroom, her pants were down, and the man was between her legs performing oral sex. She escaped but didn't initially report the crime for fear of getting into trouble about the underaged drinking.
Coursey was arrested last week and charged with sexual battery on a helpless person.
Police, however, say this isn't the first time Coursey has been tied to these kinds of allegations. In 2007, a then-26-year-old Coursey allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old girl at least ten times, according to the Sun Sentinel. No charges were filed because the teen declined to testify.
Due to his job -- as a spiky-haired life of the party (see pictures) -- law enforcement believe there are other victims out there.
"He established himself as the 'kool' adult who allows, encourages, and facilitates drinking and drug use. He then attempts to establish relationships with the young girls making them think they are his girlfriends," a police affidavit says, according to the Palm Beach Post. "It appears that his preference is of girls between the ages of 15 and 17 years of age."
