The Fort Lauderdale store is the first East Coast location for the San Francisco-based Dry Fried Wings franchise. Three other locations are slated to open in New York City and additional locations are planned for South Florida. Dry Fried Wings is "co-branded" with DaVinci's in Fort Lauderdale, where it has a separate line, entrance, and section, but shares space with the pizzeria. The company plans to use this "co-branding" model for its East Coast expansion.

This weekend, the store will give away free samples of its signature fried treats, as well as offering opening specials, including three free wings with the purchase of a beverage. Shaq will be in attendance from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, former Dolphins Jim Kiick and Mercury Morris will hang out from 1 to 3 p.m. Later on, former Dolphins players Mark Duper and O.J. McDuffie will be in attendance, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Dry Fried Wings and Da Vinci's Pizzeria are located at 3936 N. Ocean Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-561-0404.
