The hottest ticket of the week may be Sunday's showdown between the 49ers and the Ravens, but the battle Clean Plate Charlie is most interested in has nothing to do with the Super Bowl. The Fourth Annual Burger Beast Burgie Awards are planned for Saturday night and the competition is fierce. As an extra score, the awards and accompanying festival will be hosted for the first time in Broward County, instead of the usual Miami playing grounds.

5. Wine dinner at Red, The Steakhouse

Blow your Valentine's Day budget a little early with tonight's (Thursday) Stags' Leap wine dinner at Red, The Steakhouse in Boca Raton. The five-course dinner includes five wines from the Napa Valley winery. The dinner starts at 7:30 p.m. and the cost is $139 per person (which includes tax and tip). Call 561-353-9139.

4. South Florida's Wildlife Center's Hero Night at DIG Restaurant

Haven't had a chance to try DIG Restaurant since it moved to its new location on Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach? The restaurant will tonight host "Hero Night," a vegan-friendly fundraiser to benefit the South Florida Wildlife Center. Nosh on vegan appetizers and sip cocktails while mingling with fellow animal lovers. Tickets are $40 at the door and the event is 5:30 to 8 p.m.

3. Beer-Offs

Get amped up for Sunday's big game and cheer on your favorite brew at Whole Food Market's sixth-annual Beer-Offs. The Coral Springs store will host the free event at 2 p.m. on Saturday, with 50 local beer fans serving as judges in the competition. Bring along a canned good to donate to Broward Outreach Center before and during the event.

2. Opening night of Joey and Maria's Comedy Italian Wedding

The dinner theater/wedding drama Joey and Maria's Comedy Italian Wedding opens on Friday and continues through February 24. The show comes with a three-course Italian dinner and champagne toast. Tickets are $45 and the show is at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts.

1. Fourth Annual Burger Beast Burgie Awards

Competitive burger fans shouldn't miss Saturday's Fourth Annual Burger Beast Burgie Awards in Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale. Burger Beast has invited more than 20 food trucks and local restaurants to set up shop and sell tasty wares from 5 to 10 p.m. There's no cost to attend and prices range depending on the vendor. The evening also includes the awarding of the Burgie Awards in categories like "best burger" and "best food truck."
