For the past few years, truffle scented dishes have been popping up on menus all over the place.

Pretty much any and everywhere you go, some kind of truffle dish is on the menu.

From truffle fries to truffle mac and cheese to truffle-maple-bacon-ice-cream -- all right, we made that one up, but you get the point -- copious amounts of the rare funghi are turning up in places that once would have been unimaginable.

That's not something we would normally complain about, but the vast majority of the fragrant substance are about as far away from the earthy substance as one could imagine. It's mostly a chemical called 2,4-dithiapentane.

Unfortunately, the real thing still remains elusive and ridiculously expensive in most cases; however, Jové Kitchen & Bar at the Four Seasons Palm Beach is currently offering a reasonably priced truffle menu and truffles by the gram until season ends.

According to Four Seasons executive chef Darryl Moiles, the hotel chain has a special deal with an Alba truffle farmer that allows them to offer it for such low price-points.

From now until season ends -- white Alba truffle should finish in the next month or so, while the black truffles are around a bit longer -- the new restaurant is offering white Alba truffles for $15 per gram and black truffles for $10 per gram. Trust us, a small amount of the real stuff packs a serious punch.

Either one can be added to any dish on the menu.

For those looking for a little more culinary guidance, the restaurant is featuring a special truffle menu with flavors built around the specific truffle aroma; items like beef carpaccio ($21) with white truffle, sherry vinegar, tomato jam, and parmesan sauce; tagliatelle with butter sauce ($10); petit filet ($45) with pan seared foie gras, spinach, and Barolo sauce; and hazelnut cremeux ($12), a hazelnut sponge cake with white wine sabayon, and truffle sorbet.

Five course tasting menus are available for $85 per person.

If you've never had the real thing, we highly suggest trying it out while the deal is around.

Jové Kitchen & Bar is located at 2800 S. Ocean Blvd. in Palm Beach. Call 561-540-3238, or visit fourseasons.com/palmbeach.
