With a past that includes topless donut shops and kitschy theme restaurants, Fort Lauderdale has not historically been known as a culinary hotbed.
That, however, has been changing for quite a while. With an onslaught of new culinary events, Fort Lauderdale is working to heighten its image in the foodie world. The next and newest event, Flavors of Fort Lauderdale, headed by Chef Allen Susser, is attempting to bring together and showcase the city's culinary talent, while highlighting the importance of sustainable seafood.
Sounds like pretty cool, huh? But we know the tickets are not exactly cheap. Lucky for you, we have a pair to give away.

We are giving away two tickets to one event of the four-day festival: Flavors After Dark. The event takes place Saturday night from 6 to 10 pm at Las Olas Marina. Tickets normally go for 75 bucks at the door.
Local chefs and restaurants will be serving you food and wine throughout the evening, but the main draw is the "Five Fabulous Female Chefs" who include Lauren DeShields of Market 17. Each of the Fort Lauderdale-based female chefs will prepare a favorite dish on stage, which will be paired with an appropriate wine. Audience members will be invited to sample each dish.
To win the tickets, head over to the Clean Plate Charlie facebook page here. Tell us your favorite restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and why. As usual, creativity is appreciated! We will choose a winner before the end of the day and notify you via Facebook. NOTE: Winner MUST pick up the tickets from our office in Hollywood or agree to have them sent via snail mail. (Fingers crossed they would arrive by Saturday, but no guarantee.)
