This weekend, you can meet - and eat - a cast member from The Godfather.
Godfather's Authentic Subs, a new sandwich shop that recently opened in Deerfield Beach, will be hosting a meet and greet with actor Gianni Russo who played Carlo in The Godfather and The Godfather Part II films.
The sub shop will be celebrating its grand opening all weekend long, adhering to their slogan: "We are going to make you a sandwich that you can't refuse."

At Godfather's Authentic Subs, owners Anthony and Sheilagh Cirillo say you can also order the Carlo, a cold sandwich with prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, basil, tomato, balsamic glaze, extra virgin olive oil.
Of course, there's also the Sonny, Fredo, Tessio, or Michael. Each of the menu's hot and cold sub sandwiches are named for characters in the movie.
The owners, who moved to South Florida from New York, have a distinct theme, and specialize in New York-style sandwich favorites. That includes a Philly cheesesteak and meatball grinder made using the same preparation methods as New York's Nicky's Famous Meatballs from Manhattan's Bello Giardino, which won "Best Meatball in the Boroughs" by a panel of celebrity judges.
On Saturday March 7, you can meet Russo from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Russo is one of the most iconic characters from The Godfather movie: he married Connie Corleone, and is the one responsible for the death of Sonny Corleone. During the weekend meet and greet, Russo will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.
The restaurant will be offering free samples of their sub sandwiches both days, and wine made labeled under Russo's name.
