On Sunday, the season finale of AMC's The Walking Dead airs and, if it's anything like last season (or any random episode, by the way), expect a few surprise deaths of cast regulars and a crapload of walkers getting chopped in half, shot, and generally mangled in the most gristly fashions imaginable.
In other words, it's going to be a most entertaining bloodbath.
You're going to need a drink while watching all this gore. So, how about a beer with brains?
No, we're not talking about some pseudo-intellectual IPA. We mean brains. As in -- that grayish matter that zombies so like to make a meal out of.
Dock Street Brewing Co. in Philadelphia is introducing a mind-blowing (almost literally) beer in honor of AMC's zombieriffic show.
Dock Street Walker is an American Pale Stout (7.2% ABV), brewed with malted wheat, oats, flaked barley, fuggle hops, cranberries, and (wait for it)......brains! Yup. Brains. Smoked goat brains, to be exact.
Marilyn Candeloro, Vice President of Dock Street, tells Clean Plate Charlie that the idea came from their brewer, Justin Low, and brewery assistant, Sasha Certo's, love of The Walking Dead.
The beer will be released on Sunday, March 30 at 7 p.m. and will be available on tap and in growlers (for those who'd rather drink their brains out at home).
The bad news? Dock Street Walker is only available at the brewery in Philadelphia and it's available for a limited time. Candeloro says, "we have brewed just one batch (for now). It will be on sale only at Dock Street Brewery and we don't see it sticking around for long. So get it while the gettin' is good!"
The good news? You still have a few days to figure out how to get to Philadelphia to try some. Use your brains!
