Happy Earth Day. The annual celebration of the planet which houses not only us, but every known species to mankind, started on April 22, 1970 by Gaylord Nelson, then a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin, after witnessing the ravages of the 1969 massive oil spill in Santa Barbara, California. The celebration is now global, with over a billion people participating in and planning events and activities that strive to educate everyone in how precious and fragile our only home is.

This is a good day to get involved, and many companies make it as easy as buying lunch to help the planet. Here are a few restaurants celebrating today.
