Shopping for inexpensive furniture at IKEA just got a little sweeter.

The Swedish giant that specializes in cheap stylish furniture with improbable names and impossible-to-decipher assembly instructions has rolled out its new Lördagsgodis.

No, that's actually not a new Game of Thrones dragon or a character in Disney's Frozen sequel. It's IKEA's new in-store candy shop, and South Florida's IKEAs are among the first in the United States to get them.

The in-store candy bars (and name) are based on the Scandinavian tradition of Lördagsgodis, or “Saturday candy,” where kids were allowed to visit the store for a bag of candy on weekends. Today, the term still exists but has grown to mean anytime kids (and grownups) splurge on a special sweet treat.
At IKEA, shopping for candy is much like shopping for a new home office — it's all self-service. Peruse the selection of nearly 50 varieties and pick your favorites. Scoop out how much candy you'd like to indulge in for $7.99 per pound.

Each of the 45 candies are European imports, made from Swedish recipes. Choose from chocolates, licorice, marshmallows, sours, and gummies. Expect many, many iterations of Swedish Fish (always a good thing).

The best part? While candy is never what you'd call health food, these treats are as good as it gets, because they're all free of trans fats, high-fructose corn syrup, or GMOs. They're also all colored with natural colors.

IKEA's Lördagsgodis candy bar is available now at IKEA Sunrise and Miami and will be rolled out into most U.S. stores by the end of the summer.
