Now that summer is in full swing, we thought perhaps South Florida would see a lull in restaurant openings. Not so. In fact, there were plenty of new establishments still welcoming booming business in June — and still more to come over the course of, what was once, South Florida's off season.

There's also the sad news as last month saw several closures, including one notable mention; Sukho Thai, a longtime, family-run Fort Lauderdale establishment that closed its doors mid-month.

And we're still waiting on some more big news: the fall opening of Sean and Blaise McMackin's Mexican-inspired joint Barita; Rocco's Tacos in Delray Beach; Roy Villacrusis' Nitrogen in Jupiter; Pizzacraft from Rok:Brgr and Tacocraft founder Marc Falsetto in Fort Lauderdale's downtown Himmarshee Village, and more.
