Ariana Grande Comes Home to BB&T Center on July 18

Ariana Grande is coming back to her stomping grounds.

Saturday night, the pint-sized 22-year-old pop star who exploded onto the music scene last year — and made headlines last week for licking a donut and saying "I HATE Americans" — is bringing her "Honeymoon" tour to the BB&T Center, not far from her hometown of Boca Raton. Grande is in the midst of an international romp supporting 2014's My Everything, which sold more than a million copies in its first three months.

Grande has gone from newbie actress to mega-music diva in just six years. While still attending North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek in 2009, Grande gained a large tween fan base after landing the role of strange nice girl Cat Valentine on the hit Nickelodeon show Victorious. She later played the same role on Sam and Cat. But it was after the first season of Victorious wrapped in 2010 that she began pursuing her real passion.

"Acting is fun," Grande told Rolling Stone, "but music has always been first and foremost with me."

Her Babyface-produced debut, Yours Truly, featured powerful ballads with '90s-esque R&B vocals that earned her comparisons to Mariah Carey. It opened at the top of the Billboard 200 and produced a slew of singles, including "The Way" featuring rapper Mac Miller; "Baby I"; and "Right There," featuring rapper — and future beau — Big Sean.

My Everything followed a similarly successful path, also debuting at number one, but it showcased more pop- and dance-infused tracks featuring the likes of Iggy Azalea, the Weeknd, and A$AP Ferg. The sophomore effort also earned Grande a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album.

With two chart-topping albums under her belt and sold-out performances on her current tour, Grande is ready to come home and show off her singing and performing chops. "Arianators" can expect her Sunrise gig to be a grand spectacle, with dazzlers that include plenty of costume changes, prancing backup dancers, and the lady herself descending from a cloud.
