On July 31 at the 2015 National Urban League Conference a session titled "Off To the Races the 2016 Presidential Candidates’ Plenary” will take place. The event — located at the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center — will include five presidential candidates on hand ready to do what it takes to sway your vote in their respective direction.

Among the candidates confirmed to attend are Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley, Senator Bernie Sanders, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson. All candidates plan on speaking to attendees about their plan to will the White House nomination, and you can be on hand to hear it. Those who wish to attend the one-day event can register on the National Urban League website here, or you can call or call 1-800-263-9926 and sign-up over the phone.

While the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa headquarters itself is sold out, the convention has contracted numerous other hotels for those that need to plan a last second stay in the area. Visitors book a room at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six, Embassy Suites, or B Ocean Resort Fort Lauderdale; all of which have a contract with the convention, and will be running special rates for various length stays.

The convention marks the first time the convention has taken place in Florida since it was held in Orlando in 2008. The multi-day event is estimated to draw approximately 10,000 attendees and generate an economic impact of nearly $10 million for the area. The National Urban League meets annually to discuss the state of urban America. It is not uncommon for a president to speak at the event, such as President Obama did in New Orleans in 2012.
