Wilson's Chad Nicefield may have gotten into the whole music thing for the free booze, but the Detroit metal band, as pointed out in a recent New Times article, "has taken on the role of repping and bolstering its hometown, a city that's seen its fair share of turmoil over the past decade." And as the name of their new album, Right to Rise suggests, the purpose of the band's latest production is to urge American's "to get up and fight back against what's crushed them," whatever that may be.

Zappa Plays Zappa

As the son of one of the most prolific musicians to have ever lived, Dweezil Zappa is making his poppa proud. When his father Frank died of prostate cancer in 1993, Dweezil was, as described by New Times, "instilled a responsibility to introduce [his dad's music] to a new generation that might not have heard it when the elder Zappa was still alive." Since then, he's been "on a mission to keep his father's music alive." And this week, the guitarist — who just celebrated his 46th birthday — will be strummin' it up at Culture Room.

Scream "Back 2 School" Fest 2015

Watch Rich Homie Quan take off his shirt and "Flex" at the BB&T Center as the ATL rapper kicks off Scream Nation's "Back 2 School" Fest in the 954 — a "multi-dimensional, artist development, entertainment brand driven by content and focused on millennials" — with up-and-coming rap stars K Camp, Justine Sky, and the rest of the SN crew.

PureHoney Magazine's Four-Year Anniversary

PureHoney is turning four! Doyle Bramhall II is following his father's footsteps. The blues guitarist, as pointed out by New Times, has "become an integral part of the contemporary blues and roots-music community." To top it all off, Bramhall II has "settled into a comfortable role as Eric Clapton's not-so-secret weapon and right-hand man." Not too shabby, coming from the son of a legend, and all.
