The margarita. So tart, so potent, and so easy to drink too many. When it comes to refreshing alcoholic beverages, few concoctions compete with the margarita. Mojitos aside, it's practically the unofficial drink of South Florida.

Although drinking them all day long is not generally good life advice, know that come February 22 — AKA National Margarita Day — that's exactly what we'll be doing. And if you'd like to partake in this tequila and sour mix celebration, we've got you covered.

A few restaurants across Broward and Palm Beach counties will be offering margarita specials on this special day — some as early as the weekend. (Even if you prefer to stay home to celebrate, we also have a handy guide you can use to mix up a few of the best margaritas around.)

Tap 42
Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale. Visit tap42.com.
You can celebrate National Margarita Day on Monday at Tap 42 Boca Raton with three specialty options: a blueberry margarita (blueberry jam, lime juice, and simple syrup); watermelon jalapeño (watermelon purée, muddled jalapeño, lime juice, and strawberry syrup); or a cucumber basil (muddled cucumber, basil syrup, triple sec, and lime juice). All margaritas are made with barrel aged patron Reposado tequila, and cost $10 each.

Rocco's Tacos & Tequila Bar
Multiple locations. Visit roccostacos.com.
When February 22 rolls around this year — National Margarita Day — you know what that means at Rocco's Tacos. It's tequila time. With five locations in South Florida and one in Orlando, Rocco’s Tacos is one of the top places to celebrate this special drink holiday in South Florida. On Monday, each Rocco’s restaurant will offer $5 margaritas from open until close.

Cantina Laredo Modern Mexican
501 Silks Run, Hallandale Beach. Call 954-457-7662, or visit cantinalaredo.com.
Cantina Laredo will celebrate National Margarita Day by offering the Cabo Flip margarita for $7. The premium margarita is made with fresh lime juice, Cabo Wabo Reposado, and Grand Marnier orange liqueur and served with a lime boat full of tequila. Normally priced at $12.75, the drink will be available for purchase at the discounted rate from February 19 through February 22.

Tacocraft
204 SW Second St., Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-463-2003, or visit tacocraft.com.
Visit Tacocraft in Fort Lauderdale's Himmarshee Village this coming Monday and you can celebrate National Margarita Day with the restaurant's handcrafted margaritas. They'll be on special for $5 each from 8 p.m. to close.

El Camino
15 NE Second Ave., Delray Beach. Call 561-865-5350, or visit elcaminodelray.com.
Let's face it: Pretty much every Monday is National Margarita Day at El Camino, where you can get $3 classic margaritas all day long. Named New Times' 2014 Best Margarita, it's the perfect balance of Corazon blanco, agave, lime, and — the secret ingredient — house-made lime bitters. The bar won't be doing any additional promotions or specials on February 22, but the margaritas will definitely be flowing all day long. Feeling fancy? You can get any of the specialty margaritas for $10 including the smoked pineapple, chili-guava, or watermelon-jalapeño.

On the Border
Multiple locations. Visit ontheborder.com.
There will be no case of the Mondays on February 22 at On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina this year. That's because the modern Mexican chain will be offering its best price of the year on its best-selling cocktail, the house margarita. All day long, the restaurant will sell its 12-ounce house margarita — frozen or on the rocks — for $2 each. Additionally, National Margarita Day begins a month-long celebration at On the Border, which has more than a dozen specialty margaritas to choose from, including the Original Meltdown, a way to personalize and customize your favorite margarita by topping it off with a liqueur or premium tequila.

Frankey’s Sports Bar & Adena Grill
900 Silks Run, Hallandale Beach. Call 954-464-2333, or visit frankeysbar.com.
At Frankey's Sports Bar and Adena Grill in Hallandale's Gulfstream Park, you can enjoy half-off all margaritas — including top-shelf selections — in honor of National Margarita Day. The discount is available all day Monday, February 22.
