Corey Artanis' brainchild, 3 Sons Brewing Co., took home three awards at this years Hunahpu's Day Festival, which took place Saturday at the Cotanchobee Fort Brooke Park in downtown Tampa. The annual festival celebrates the release of the much-sought-after Hunahpu's Imperial Stout from Cigar City Brewing and has become a mainstay in the festival scene over the past couple of years.

"#HunahpusDay2016 attendees voted for their favorite breweries and beer. The people have spoken," proclaimed Cigar City's official Facebook account. As part of the fest, attendees were asked to vote for their favorites among the dozens upon dozens of breweries present, including best brewery and best beer.

The Best Breweries awards went to Atlanta, Georgia's MAZURT with bronze, Miami's J. Wakefield Brewing with silver, and the upcoming South Florida-based 3 Sons Brewing with gold.

Bronze in Best Beer was taken in by MAZURT with its Coconut Aged Brandy Vanilla Russian Imperial Stout, while 3 Sons Brewing took home a silver for its JBM35 and a gold for its Apple Brandy Summation.

This is the second year in a row that 3 Sons has had the distinction of winning Best Brewery and Best Beer at the festival, having made a strong showing in 2015.

"So we had an amazing time today!" 3 Sons Brewing stated over social media. "Thank you so much, everyone, for voting for us, and we're so happy you liked our beer!"

For now, Artanis is brewing for Brass Tap at its Fort Lauderdale brew house, which operates an onsite two-barrel brewery system. He has been scouting areas in Broward County for the 3 Sons brewery, including Dania Beach and Davie.

In the meantime, follow 3 Sons on Facebook to catch upcoming events.
