Since ending their AGT stint, the boys have been making some serious in-roads in the world of high-powered rock cello. "Our grandfather was a principal cellist for all his life, and he taught us how to play, and we basically perverted the instrument with rock music," a precocious Emil told local WTVJ-TV's 6 in the Mix in an on-air interview earlier this month.
"Our biggest dream came true just a few weeks ago," he continued. "We were invited to perform by our childhood idols, Apocalyptica, who are also the biggest cello band in the world."
"They're really incredible guys. The way they treated us was so heartwarming," said
About two weeks ago, the brothers posted a video of the joint performance to their Facebook page, which was subsequently shared by Apocalyptica and has since garnered an impressive 1,012,238 views. Watch the video below:
"Wow! We went from #AGT to playing with our childhood idols, and the most Iconic cellists in the world! LIKE and SHARE so we spread the Cello Madness and Love with EVERYONE!!!!!" they captioned the video.
As for what's next, Emil and Dariel say they have some massive plans in the works, including a project with Apocalyptica, but they're keeping details under wraps for now. In the same interview with WTVJ-TV (NBC 6), Emil said, "They're an amazing band, and we're kind of an amazing band, so something cool is going to happen."
