http://www.solidgoldftl.com Solid Gold is an upscale gentlemen's show club with a full high-end steak-house restaurant called Palms Grille that serves steak, seafood and Italian entrées and even offers tableside flambé for select steak entrees and desserts. The club opens at noon every day and offers a two-for-one happy-hour special until 8 p.m. and a value-priced lunch menu with $3, $5, and $7 entrées. Solid Gold emphasizes a glamorous aesthetic with fully made-up dancers in gowns. Depending on the crowd, DJs spin everything from classic rock and Top 40 to dance hits and hip-hop. Annual parties can get pretty ornate with all sorts of performers, including trapeze artists. Ladies are welcome to party here along with the gents, and the Palms Grille, located in a separate space from the showroom, provides a nice retreat for the timid. http://www.solitalasolas.com SoLita means "South of Little Italy," and the menu is full of traditional Italian favorites your grandmother might have made that were designed by chef Anthony Risoli, formerly of Café Martorano. The restaurant has taken over the former Mark's restaurant space and transformed it into three distinct parts: a romantic parlor lounge with cozy love seats and dim lighting, a wine bar filled with boisterous crowds weeknights, and, tucked behind white curtains, the dining room, where low-slung chandeliers, tufted sofas, and mirrors set a glitzy backdrop. At the top of the menu are meatballs with pomodoro sauce and fresh herbs, rigatoni with slow-braised pork and tomato sauce, and pan-seared snapper with faro and blood orange vinaigrette. http://www.sopranosduelingpianobar.com Hearing the word piano in a bar's name can make some hesitant; however, at Sopranos, the sounds are more likely to be from the Rolling Stones than Beethoven. There is a enormous wooden bar in the back, and tiny black tables occupy the floor opposite the back-to-back pianos on the front stage. Folks in the crowd are encouraged to shout requests, chime in with lyrics, and clap along. The high-energy environment and wild patrons at Sopranos make this rock bar a destination for birthdays and bachelorette parties. Read more about this Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach bar or club >>
http://www.lapiazzapasta.com/index-1.html Set right in the hubbub that entertains Young Circle crowds in Hollywood, Sosta Lounge is a slick and modern bar mixing hookah smoke and chic couples sipping expensive bottles of wine outside, and lounge singers and trendy leopard couches inside. Lights glow through the gray granite bar top, and aqua-tiled pillars add colorful accents to the mostly neutral-toned room. Brick walls feature the funky water colors of the ever-whimsical Guy Buffett. Happy hour runs from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and dinner specials are available through La Piazza, a restaurant that's attached and under the same ownership. http://www.southportrawbar.com For those of us with high expectations of low places, this raw bar has appeal. You can stumble up to the docks almost any time of day and sup on platters of gulf oysters and wash them down with ice-cold beer from the bottle or plunk down inside and escape the sun with an iced tea and a platter of meat loaf. Steamed clams are tender little nuggets, and fried seafood is nongreasy, freshly prepared, and downright cheap. Landlubber faves include chili dogs, mini burgers, Buffalo wings, and Philly cheese steaks. Read more about this Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach bar or club >>

In the dinner hours, Spazio lights up with live music and occasional dancing that add to the hum of beachfront nightlife. http://www.speakeasylakeworth.com In the midst of the Lake Worth downtown scene is the Speakeasy Lounge, a newer venue for live music, burlesque shows, or a drink with friends. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by a long narrow bar illuminated by dimly lit lanterns. The walls are adorned in Prohibition-era photographs and artwork from the local scene. A pool table sits in a corner, providing for some friendly drinking competition. Pass through the narrow front room and into a wider space that holds a small tiki bar and well-sized stage. Tables and chairs are scattered about, and stickers from local and touring acts decorate the walls in CBGB style. From hip-hop to rock ’n’ roll, the band bookings are quite eclectic. There is never a shortage of liquor or beer to go around. Open until 4 a.m. and voted Best New Bar in Palm Beach by New Times, this watering hole is definitely not one to skip out on. http://www.spiceresto-lounge.com There's a lot of pure, joyous animal charisma circulating at Spice Resto-Lounge. There are women in leopard-print cat suits and in spandex tank tops, in tiny, fringed minis that shimmy with every jut of the hip. There are lantern-jawed men with dark hair pulled into ponytails and pumped-up guys with shaved heads and designer eyewear. Flat-bellied, pierced, tattooed -- the staff here treats clothing like an optional accessory. http://www.squaregrouper.net/index.htm The Square Grouper sits on a strip of land jutting into the inlet that separates north Jupiter. Across the water is the Jupiter lighthouse, and out past the jetty is the open ocean. The bar itself is nothing more than a thatched-roof, open-air bar made from wood that likely washed ashore at some point. It's painted in multiple Caribbean themes. Plastic tables and chairs sit around the main bar area, which has a floor of white sand. Aside from the occasional rumble of boats and bikers pulling up to the place, you mostly just hear water lapping up on the sea wall. Alan Jackson used the Square Grouper as a backdrop for his "Its' Five O'Clock Somewhere" video. Love or hate that song, it's synonymous with happy hour, and so is the Square Grouper. The content of the televisions that litter the walls of any given establishment can give a good indication as to the type of people who are likely to hang out and/or work there. The Stable has six TVs: two for news, two for porn, and two for weird YouTube videos (SNL sketches and Chinese gymnastics, for example). So it should be no surprise to find yourself mixing with fun, intelligent, sexy people when you post up here for a night. Try hitting up "Underwear Night" or "Drago" (the Stable's version of Bingo) for some classic Stable revelry. If you're naughty enough, you just might make it on to one of the YouTube TVs someday. http://www.facebook.com/pages/StarLite-Lounge/111463625561162?fref=ts The Starlite Lounge is hidden in a Pompano strip mall, behind a bank and a Super 8, parked between a laundromat and an antiques store. Stepping through the door, though, is like walking into a dark, wonderful warp zone that combines all the comfort (and pricing) of a bar in 1970s South Florida with all the toys of today. Inside, you'll find clean pool tables, dartboards, shuffleboard, a Wii that begs to be played, a collection of flat-screens tuned to local sports, weekly live music, and a jukebox full of classics. The drinks are cheap and stiff, the colorful cast of regulars is warm and welcoming, and the small team of bartenders is attentive and accommodating. It's easy to miss, but once you've been, it's hard to forget. Read more about this Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach bar or club >>
