Stache 1920's Drinking Den

This party enclave caters to the hip: the chic, live-music lovers and those looking for a serious cocktail and a sexy time. The 5,000-square-foot space opened in fall 2013 and boasts gorgeous décor throughout the three-level club.

Lake Worth's indie-music hot spot, Propaganda has the monopoly on good local, original music most nights of the week. If a local band hasn't played the spot, it won't be long.

B.B. King's Restaurant & Blues Club

Catch live blues, rock, reggae, funk, and other acts at this CityPlace venue, where the menu is as soulful as the music. Prices are moderate, though for a few acts, there's a cover charge and limited seating, especially when B.B. and Lucille show up.

    Wishing Well Irish Pub

111 SE Mizner Blvd. Boca Raton, FL 33432

A little hint of the Emerald Isle can be found just beyond the doors of the Wishing Well Irish Pub in Boca Raton. The high-ceilinged and roomy pub is located in the heart of the city at Mizner Village. Although the interior feels a bit like the old city of Dublin, the wide variety of flat-screen TVs, dartboards, and pool tables makes any patron feel right at home. In addition to the inside, there is also an outdoor garden patio for those looking to escape and take in the surroundings. Not only is there a colorful array of beers and liquors to choose from but there are traditional delights on hand like bangers and mash or a succulent shepherd's pie to fuel those Irish cravings. • World of Beer - Coconut Creek

World of Beer - Coconut Creek

4437 Lyons Road Coconut Creek, FL 33073
954-984-0300 World of Beer, located in the Promenade at Coconut Creek, almost feels like a beer-themed museum. Walk in and you're greeted by high ceilings and a warehouse-type décor that's so open, it seems like it should house some giant showcase of beer-drinker artifacts. But nothing is lost because of it. After all, seating is limited at the winding bar, and you'll want some breathing space when you try to conquer the massive menu of craft beers. Drink around the world with beers from Poland, Japan, the Netherlands, Costa Rica, and Vietnam, to name just a few on the exhaustive list. And even though WoB offers more than 500 at any given time, the bar really rotates about 1,000. The only choices you don't have? Budweiser, Miller, Coors. • Wowies Sports Grill

    Wowies Sports Grill

7036 W. Palmetto Park Road Boca Raton, FL 33433
561-392-5040 Do you love the bawdy locker room vibe at Hooters but wonder why beautiful girls subject themselves to the garish orange get-up, with support hose and high-top sneaks? (Hint: student loans) Then head to this sexy sports bar where the dress code is often as hot as the wings coming out of the kitchen. With a staff decked out in corsets and short-shorts, you'd think the food was an afterthought -- but the menu is surprisingly lengthy, with dishes like chicken bruschetta, gorgonzola-topped steak panini, steamed mussels, handmade zeppole dusted with powdered sugar, and a host of other inventive sandwiches and salads. • Wreck Bar

    Wreck Bar

1140 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316

Steps away from the sand, inside Fort Lauderdale's Yankee Clipper Hotel lurks a passageway into the underwater world of magical mermaids. Once inside the Wreck Bar, you'll forget that you just walked through a hotel lobby. Dripping in nautical garb, the room is lined in fishtanks, and a bit reminiscent of the once popular theme-park ride 20,000 leagues under the sea. After one too many tropical cocktails, you might be wondering whether or not you actually stepped into a submarine. Behind the bar, large windows act as portholes into the hotel's pool, where you may catch a school of mermaids floating by. On Friday nights, be sure to catch the mystical ways of MeduSirena, Fort Lauderdale's own fire-eating mermaid. Show begins at 6:30p.m., but you might want to get there early in order to grab a seat. And to think mermaids only existed in Disney films. . . Read more about Wreck Bar >>

  • Yak-Zies Bar & Grill

    Yak-Zies Bar & Grill

868 S. Federal Highway Pompano Beach, FL 33062
954-786-0033 Adorning the outside of Yak-Zies are paintings of iconic musical characters from throughout the 20th Century. On one wall, John Lennon stands between Hendrix and Dylan, and right around the corner, Elvis stares with dreamy eyes. Above the mural reads, "If you don't eat here, we both starve." This little phrase is the first indicator that the Pompano bar itself is quite a character, and that realization deepens as one begins hanging out inside. The inner walls are dedicated to the Three Stooges, Norman Rockwell, and other classics, while in between them is Don the barkeep, who's been there for close to two decades. Don will happily boast of the men's room door, which features the perfect image of a vagina. Kind of like the face of Jesus in the grilled cheese sandwich, but Yak-Zies style. • Yard House

    Yard House

601 Silks Run Hallandale Beach, FL 33009
954-454-9950 Here's a rollicking spot for beer lovers. The chain restaurant from California, named for the yard-high glass originally created to serve stagecoach drivers, spurts more than 200 beers on tap - the main draw. A unique system of chilled taps that run in long lines to the keg room keeps beers fresh and tasty -- and with a sampler option, hopheads can try several at a sitting. The huge island bar with stools in the center of the room parallels the open kitchen, where American fusion dishes fly out the service windows. It's a busy, lively spo, with classic rock on the speakers day and night. A late-night in-the-biz crowd comes for an after-shift brew. Moviegoers and families can be found at early hours, noshing on burgers (don't miss the béarnaise sliders), sandwiches, personal pizzas, and a good salad selection. Even the kids' menu has healthful sides such as jasmine rice or a green salad. A special "gluten sensitive" menu also is available. It's value priced too - the reason you see so many regulars here. • Ye Olde Falcon Pub

    Ye Olde Falcon Pub

    2867 S. University Drive Davie, FL 33328
954-424-0300 Sometimes, British-themed pubs exist primarily for drinking and listening to live music, not so much for the dining experience. Olde Falcon isn't one of those, even though their 50-odd strong draft beer list is the main draw. On one hand, the Falcon Pub is stereotypical: dark-wood-paneled interior, sports on the TVs. The music is cranked up loud, and the clientele are usually young folks watching a game and knocking back some good brew. But the kitchen is way above average, with a smattering of American favorites (pot roast, etc.) nestled between the standard bangers and mash and shepherd's pie. On your first visit, make sure to get the fish and chips - it's a standout. Some of the items you have to know about and ask for (like duck tenders with delicious orange sauce). Hit those puppies with a pint of Dead Guy Ale or Fuller's ESB (or a peach lambic if you're feeling extra-fruity) and feed your epicurean frenzy. Read more about Ye Olde Falcon Pub >>

  • YOLO Restaurant and O Lounge

    YOLO Restaurant and O Lounge

333 E. Las Olas Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301
954-523-1000 YOLO stands for You Only Live Once, which is probably the owners' way of saying, "Spend money and have another cocktail." Kidding aside, YOLO is run by a group of Broward County power peeps who know how to run a solid business -- the same guys who brought you Tarpon Bend, Himmarshee Bar & Grill, and Vibe nightclub. This trendy eatery mixes up the high-end and low-end eats with standards like prime rib and seared tuna salad balanced out by truffled potato chips and deluxe grilled cheese. One of the few places to see and be seen on Las Olas, YOLO has a distinct South Beach vibe -- trendy and sophisticated. There's even an outdoor fire pit. Brunch is served on weekends, and drinks include mimosas, a bloody mary bar, and fresh-fruit cocktails. Adjacent O Lounge is popular with local professionals needing an after-work refreshment.
