http://www.automatic-slims.com At the Seminole Hard Rock outpost of this raucous party establishment it's likely a beautiful vixen in a miniskirt will pour liquor down your throat from an upside down bottle as soon as you walk in the door. The plush environs are well appointed with luxury accoutrements in sound and seating. Live cover bands and DJs of popular music perform Tuesdays through Saturdays, and the bar opens at 5p.m. happy hour and closes at 4.am. breakfast. • B.E.D. Miami

    B.E.D. Miami

929 Washington Ave. Miami Beach, FL 33139
    305-532-9070

http://www.bedmiami.com This self-explanatory supper/dance club oozes silky seduction with a dreamy decor featuring king-size beds garnished with snow-white drapes. Nightly house music and hip-hop affairs attract a jet-set crowd. This is one hard place to get a seat: Beds take up waaay more room than tables. And then there's B.E.D.'s reservation system. There are exactly two seatings per night, one 8 to 8:30 p.m., the other 10:30 to 11 p.m. But once one is seated (or gets laid, whatever), then comes the surprise: a standout crabcake appetizer and terrific crayfish tapenade. Main courses include roasted rack of Australian lamb, which features a full-bodied mustard-tarragon sauce, and pan-seared Chilean sea bass sauced with a rich but light herbed vermouth cream. Desserts like the "Go Deep" cappuccino crème brûlée are more outrageous than original and the only food items that seemed to pander to B.E.D.'s gimmick aspect. More >>

  • Bardot

    Bardot

    3456 N. Miami Ave. Miami, FL 33127
    305-576-7750

http://www.bardotmiami.com Sick of social media? Bardot has a parking-lot entrance, no sign, and a zero-photography policy. A long bar dominates one side of the single open space, while Moroccan-cool lounge furniture, a pool table, and a stage take up the other half. Topnotch local bands, musicians, and DJs play regularly, and late-night parties make this spot prime for after hours. Plus there's also a weekday happy hour. Expect a cover charge, expensive drinks, and the possibility of a South Beach-style door hassle on busy nights. More >>

  • Boardwalk

    Boardwalk

1721 N. Andrews Ave. Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33311
    954-463-6969

http://www.boardwalkbarxxx.com Boardwalk male dance club's four platforms feature men in skintight briefs and boots or sneakers undulating to club versions of Top 40 mixes. The dancers range from svelte boyish men who can do dead-on "Single Ladies" impersonations to beefy dudes who can hold the room's attention just by marching and flexing. Despite the sexual energy floating around, the club's vibe is that of a light-spirited Wilton Manors hangout. Drag queen MC Krystal K is a stunning female form. She hosts the night with humor and performs occasional lip-synch numbers to great applause. The stylish outside restaurant and bar, Beefcake's Grill, serves burgers, wings, chicken wraps, and other bar fare as well as saucily named frozen drinks like the Peppermint Pecker and the Screaming Orgasm for $10 a pop -- two-for-one with entrée purchase. Look out for Wednesday night's "New Meat" amateur night and occasional visits from porn stars. More >>

  • Bokamper

    Bokamper's Sports Bar & Grill

1280 S. Pine Island Road Plantation, FL 33324
    954-533-7152

http://www.bokampers.com Dolphins vet (and Plantation resident) Kim "Kimbo" Bokamper started this neighborhood hang to indulge his sports fetish, and it shows. Fifty plasma TVs enough for ya? If you know what most places with that sort of cathodic bling are like in terms of atmosphere, you probably have a good idea what to expect from the food. A few entrees, like the blackened swordfish sandwich and Bo's burger (with a fried egg poised atop) stand out on the menu, but beers, wings, and football: That trusty trifecta is always going strong at Bokamper's. • Boondocks Grille & Draft House

    Boondocks Grille & Draft House

27205 Overseas Highway Summerland Key, FL 33042
    305-872-4094

http://boondocks.us.com This awesome Keys landmark opened way back in the early 90s as a tiny ice cream shack in the middle of the wilderness. Today, the property encompasses a miniature golf course, an eatery, a bar, and a live music venue. There are daily happy hours, trivia nights, and regular bookings of Elton John and Rod Stewart tribute bands. The prime location on mile marker 27 1/2 on Ramrod island in the Lower Keys makes it the perfect place to stop for some putt putt, a few beers, and a fish sandwich on the way to Key West. More >>

  • Burger & Beer Joint

    Burger & Beer Joint

1766 Bay Road Miami Beach, FL 33139
    305-672-3287

http://www.burgernbeerjoint.com This South Beach hangout has more attitude than a Hell's Angel. OK, perhaps that's pushing it a little, but it's a sports bar, lounge, and restaurant that is definitely more than just a tatted-up Mickey D's. (This should come as no surprise, because it is the creation of Automatic Slims' conceptual owner and a former GM from SushiSamba.) An upstairs lounge, open 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays and now Mondays for poker, is a great getaway for locals who love to rock, especially when bands perform. It boasts eight TV sets, green chalkboard walls, an oval bar, and a purple-cloth pool table. B&B's sports bar is where you can also find folks drinkin' and smokin' from happy hour on. With 99 types of beer, an incredible wine list, a full bar, and a cocktail menu with selections named "Harry Palmer," "Lowrider," and "Daisy Duke," you can bet patrons stay until the wee hours. But the focal point is the restaurant, where carnivores can customize a burger with a choice of a half- or full pound of free-range beef, Kobe, or turkey; four buns; eight types of cheese; grilled toppings; a selection of unique sauces (we're partial to the Atomic horseradish, tarragon rémoulade, and chipotle ketchup); raw veggies; and "Pure Platinum" toppings such as foie gras ($13) and truffle demi ($8). The least expensive cheeseburger runs about $10.75, but the "Stairway to Heaven," with Kobe, foie, and the demi, rings in at a whopping $39. Whatever you partake of, throw the thoughts of keeping kosher out the window and pair your beef with a deep-fried Twinkie and an adult milkshake (we love the "O Face" and "Money Shot"), made with Edy's ice cream right from the case. Even the kiddies will get a kick out of this joint, especially because they get their own menu and crayons with which to deface the tabletops. Hell, if you're feeling rebellious, pick up a Crayola too. More >>

If you weren't so lucky, drown your sorrows in half-priced drinks and appetizers at happy hour, from 4 to 8 p.m. every day. One part dude ranch, one part rock 'n' roll haven, hang out amid guitar-lined walls and boots-'n'-spurs décor. Feeling feisty? Or properly lubricated? Try your hand at the big mechanical bull. • Cameo

    Cameo

1445 Washington Ave. Miami Beach, FL 33139
    305-532-2667

http://www.cameomiami.com Once upon a time, Cameo was a theater inhabited by skaters and punks. Trick contests took place in the alley while bands such as the Circle Jerks, 7 Seconds, Fugazi, and Gwar set up inside the large club. Nowadays, Cameo is one of the main clubs in the Opium Group dynasty. The floor plan is similar to that of neighboring Opium family member Mansion; the large main room features a DJ booth on a stage, and the second-floor balcony overlooks it and the dance floor. Depending on the night, partygoers can get a taste of hip-hop, house, or live performances from some of the biggest names in the industry. More >>

What's best is that the desserts at this quaint European-style café are made so lovingly that that said loved one will think you plotted this gift selection weeks in advance. • Churchill

    Churchill's Pub

    5501 NE 2nd Ave. Miami, FL 33137
    305-757-1807

http://www.churchillspub.com Miami is sorely lacking in decent rock clubs, so Churchill's is home to many a scruffy punker who is too real for South Beach. A pair of pool tables, a large room for bands, and a sizable outdoor patio help house the mainland rock faithful. More >>

  • Cloud 9 Lounge

    Cloud 9 Lounge

7126 Stirling Road Hollywood, FL 33024
    954-499-3525

http://www.thecloud9online.com Cloud 9 is lesbian hangout that's also the kind of place you turn to for good conversation -- and when you're in need of a stripper pole. The understated interior is disguised by a generically painted/decorated exterior that might lead many a passerby to drive on, ignorant of the genial friendliness inside... And of the amateur strip contests like Dare 2 Bare. More >>
