Stache 1920's Drinking Den

This party enclave caters to the hip: the chic, live-music lovers and those looking for a serious cocktail and a sexy time. The 5,000-square-foot space opened in fall 2013 and boasts gorgeous décor throughout the three-level club.

Lake Worth's indie-music hot spot, Propaganda has the monopoly on good local, original music most nights of the week. If a local band hasn't played the spot, it won't be long.
B.B. King's Restaurant & Blues Club

B.B. King's Restaurant & Blues Club

Catch live blues, rock, reggae, funk, and other acts at this CityPlace venue, where the menu is as soulful as the music. Prices are moderate, though for a few acts, there's a cover charge and limited seating, especially when B.B. and Lucille show up.

  • Neighborhood Sports Bar and Grill

    Neighborhood Sports Bar and Grill

6450 N. Federal Highway Boca Raton, FL 33487

After closing and then reopening in 2010, this rather generically monikered watering hole still enjoys broad appeal. The nightly supercheap drink specials draw drinkers in, the HD projection screens further numb 'em up, and by the time your chicken nachos or Nathan's hot dog or cheeseburger arrives, you're probably in a less-than-discerning mood. • O

    O'Brian's Irish Pub

51 SE First Ave. Boca Raton, FL 33432

Dimly lit and smoky, O'Brians Irish Pub is a quaint watering hole among the upscale Boca Raton hangouts. The wooden bar mimics that of an Irish pub that has just been picked up from a Dublin street corner and brought to America. The walls are made of wood paneling and exposed brick, with various retro neon beer signs adorning them. A long leather booth lines the mirrored back wall, and a moosehead named "Melvin" greets patrons as they enter the bar. Dartboards and a poker table are available for some friendly competition among friends. Rum barrels have been transformed into tabletops, and there is a vintage cigarette machine available for smokers. O'Brians adds a bit of old neighborhood charm to the newer restaurants and bars amid the Mizner strip. Read more about O'Brian's Irish Pub >>

  • Our Place Boca

    Our Place Boca

2901 N. Federal Highway Boca Raton, FL 33431
561-750-9745 This brick-walled sports bar and tiki hut, located in the Boca Raton Plaza Hotel and Suites, has a warm neighborhood vibe. Our Place serves well drinks for $2.35 during its daily 12-hour happy hour (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.) at the inside bar. Televisions throughout the bar's mutli-level interior are tuned to various sports games, and there are framed photographs of several baseball stadiums on the wall. But it's the big, blow-up eagle mascot for the Philadelphia Eagles that shows the bars' loyalty. Hot roast beef sandwiches are Our Places' specialty, but the kitchen, where all food is made on premises, also turns out Philly cheesesteaks, Mardi Gras shrimp and clams, Mediterranean salad and filet mignon as well as a nightly menu of $9.99 specials. There's a complimentary buffet every Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. and a countdown to St. Patrick's Day party on the 17th of each month with shepherd's pie and corned beef and cabbage. The tiki bar, located across the lobby, is a tiny hut with bartop and table seating that's located next to the hotel's pool. Read more about Our Place Boca >>

  • Packy

11379 W. Palmetto Park Road Boca Raton, FL 33428

Packy's, a laid-back sports bar in west Boca Raton, caters to families for lunch and dinner and to local drinkers looking for a relaxed environment to watch a Jets game. Jets jerseys line the walls and servers boast thick New York accents when they suggest the buffalo wings. Neon beer signs light the periphery of the large space as people gather at the rectangle bar in the middle of the room. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. But the real draw are the Voodoo Juice buckets filled with five types of rum and cranberry, orange, and pineapple juice for $8. • Platforms

99 SE 1st St. Boca Raton, FL 33432

The days of disco live on beyond the beaded curtains at Boca Raton's kitschy nightclub Platforms. Illuminated by multicolored lighting, lava lamps, and reflections off a disco ball, every inch of the venue is dripping in nostalgia. Vintage lunchboxes, laser discs, and an endless number of records dangle from the ceiling, and flat-screen televisions play old-school music videos. A Thriller-clad mannequin stands on a platform, perfect for a tipsy photo opp. Bubbles sprinkle the checkered dance floor where the lively crowd does the hustle and shows off their best electric slide. Before heading out the door, don't forget to stop off at the candy store to grab a pack of candy cigarettes or a ring pop for the ride home. Read more about Platforms >>

    Shisha Cafe

201 SE First Ave. Boca Raton, FL 33429

Hidden on a side street off Federal Highway's bar row in Boca, Shisha Cafe would be easy to miss if not for the hearty tobacco aromas that cloak the place. A medley of scents including apple, coconut, mango, caramel, or a blend of all greet you at least 20 feet before you reach the door. We recommend their secret blend Piece of Paradise. The inside decor continues to stimulate the senses with rich red walls and funky artwork. Shisha doesn't serve alcohol, but the popular hangout spot the Lodge shares a patio space. So grab a beer, then a hookah at Shisha and mingle with in-the-know locals somewhere in the middle. Read more about Shisha Cafe >>

  • Taboo Ultra Lounge

    Taboo Ultra Lounge

309 Royal Palm Place Boca Raton, FL 33432

Although it's 15 feet from a Ten Commandments monument in the heart of Royal Palm Plaza, Boca club Taboo doesn't veil its intention to break some rules. • Tricky Dick

    Tricky Dick's Pub

9900 Sandalfoot Blvd. Boca Raton, FL 33428

Tricky Dick's is a casual, blue-collar spot by day, and a lively gathering of 20-somethings by night -- especially on Mondays from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., when women drink free. Located off 441 in west Boca Raton, this low-key watering hole boasts the regular bar swag: beer signs and lots of sports on the TVs. At night, the dance floor packs a DJ, two pool tables, darts, booths, and a whole lot of bodies vibing to electronica and old-school hip hop. Though during the day, the jukebox pumps out classic rock. The island bar divides the room, seemingly between partiers and onlookers. And it also opens up into a package store on one side. Tricky Dick's has a 23-hour license, so the party starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 5 a.m. Read more about Tricky Dick's Pub >>
