Stache 1920's Drinking Den

Stache 1920's Drinking Den

This party enclave caters to the hip: the chic, live-music lovers and those looking for a serious cocktail and a sexy time. The 5,000-square-foot space opened in fall 2013 and boasts gorgeous décor throughout the three-level club.

Lake Worth's indie-music hot spot, Propaganda has the monopoly on good local, original music most nights of the week. If a local band hasn't played the spot, it won't be long.
B.B. King's Restaurant & Blues Club

B.B. King's Restaurant & Blues Club

Catch live blues, rock, reggae, funk, and other acts at this CityPlace venue, where the menu is as soulful as the music. Prices are moderate, though for a few acts, there's a cover charge and limited seating, especially when B.B. and Lucille show up.

    Billy's Tavern

    8580 W. State Road 84 Plantation, FL 33324

Friendliness and casual comfort define the sports haven Billy's Tavern in Davie. Located on the tail end of a strip mall, Billy's gathers Pittsburgh enthusiasts and football regulars whose hearts pump black and gold blood and whose eyes are glued to the large projection screen on Sundays. But Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens fans don't have to fret, the welcoming environment extends from the customers to the waitresses to the bartenders. The pub only serves beer and wine, in addition to a full menu. But don't come here for the impressive selection of exotic brews or a perfectly blackened grouper. Instead head to Billy's for all the familiar faces during a happy hour that runs 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Read more about Billy's Tavern >>

  • Cowboy

    Cowboy's Saloon

    1805 S. University Drive Davie, FL 33324
954-476-0063 Wednesdays and Fridays are ladies' nights at Cowboy's Saloon, a surprisingly expansive bar, restaurant, and line-dance hall housed in between a Bed Bath & Beyond and a Pet Supermarket in a Davie strip mall off of University Drive. Ladies and gents with a hankering for some boots-knockin' will want to stop by on either of these nights, when the Bud Light flows like water and the local Hooters girls come out after a long, hard shift for some late-night bull riding. Cowboys sporting tight black V-neck T's, hats, leather cuff bracelets, and authentic Southern drawls serve drinks from behind the bar; and gals stamp their boots on the wooden line-dance floor with all the sass of Dolly Parton. But you don't have to be a horse-ridin', gun-shooting', tobacco-spittin' wrangler to enjoy a night out at Cowboy's. Folks from all walks of life can be spotted hanging out and letting loose at this relaxed and welcoming suburban watering hole. Read more about Cowboy's Saloon >>

  • Geronimo

Geronimo's Casual Gourmet Grill & Bar

    3528 S. University Drive Davie, FL 33324
954-474-9998 It's not uncommon to find Geronimo's packed at the end of the workweek. You'll find the same crowd during happy hour as you'll find stumbling out at 2 in the morning. Geronimo's is one of those rare neighborhood bars whose regulars aren't crusty, chain-smoking curmudgeons. Young professionals and younger college students from nearby Nova, BCC, and ITT arrive in small groups and almost simultaneously let loose a sigh of relief: Beer, booze, and 35-cent chicken wings! • Luke

    Luke's Place

    3558 S. University Drive Davie, FL 33328

Luke's Place is a deceptively large bar located inside a shopping center in Davie. Beyond the giant bar just beyond the entrance, a live DJ often spins music near a dance floor with ample room to get down. Live music plays every Saturday night, with a rotating list of bands. To the right is another room where patrons can be found playing at pool tables or shooting darts. If you come on Sunday or Monday, you can play pool for free all day. Cure your hangover on Sunday mornings with $2 bloody marys. On Wednesday, play free darts and enjoy $2 rum, vodka, or gin drinks all day and night. Pitchers of beer are always $5. The drinks are affordable, and it's still quiet enough inside to hold slurred conversation. Read more about Luke's Place >>

  • Mr. Laff's

4599 S. University Drive Davie, FL 33328 The goofy spelling of "laugh" is a testament to this place's spirit: lighthearted, unpretentious, and a little silly. Formerly a well-loved dive-slash-comedy bar of the same name back in the 1980s, Mr. Laff's new proprietors have breathed new life into it. When it comes to keeping customers (laughingly) happy, Mr. Laff's begins with the food - the creative, mostly American menu includes sesame salmon, served with shitake caps and sweet soy, for $16.95, and a California-style burger with avocado for $11.50. There's also an affordable kids' menu, and before 8 p.m. Sunday and Thursday, ten entrees cost only $9.95. The ten-for-ten deal won't rob you of the goods; there's grouper, ribs, and steak among the choices. But the main goal here is entertainment: Monday is Southern bike night, featuring classic rock and country music spun by resident DJs; Tuesday is karaoke night; Wednesday is ladies' night, which means half-price drinks from 10 p.m. till 2 a.m. for the female patrons; and Thursday is open mic night till 3 a.m. Things continue to get musical over the weekend, with a live band takes the stage on Fridays and Saturdays. With a decent amount of large TV screens to watch the game and a room for private parties to round out the amenities, it's hard not to stay happy at Mr. Laff's. Read more about Mr. Laff's >>

The karaoke regulars at Murphy’s Law range from so good that you’ll think they must be retired backup singers for Aretha Franklin to so bad that they’ll make you wish you never had to listen to a whiny Kenny Chesney country cover again. Either way, when it’s your turn, there’s no judgment. Guzzle the rest of your Bud Light, hop on stage, and relish your three minutes and 15 seconds of fame under the blue spotlight of the Murphy’s Law Hard Rock.
